ViewHelm is a parental control tool providing: a web dashboard where parents configure per-channel YouTube scheduling rules, a Chrome browser extension that enforces those rules on a child's device in real time, and a request/approval flow so children can ask parents for access to new channels. The Service is designed for use by parents and guardians with children aged approximately 10–16.
You agree not to:
The Service interacts with YouTube but is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by YouTube or Google LLC. "YouTube" is a trademark of Google LLC. The Service uses Firebase (Google) for data storage and authentication, Anthropic (Claude) for AI-generated channel summaries, and Firebase Cloud Messaging for push notifications. Your use is also subject to the terms of these third-party services where applicable.
The Service currently operates in beta. Family Premium will be priced at $5/month or $48/year (or the price displayed at checkout at the time of purchase), with a 14-day free trial that requires a valid credit card. A free tier for one child profile with up to two channels is available and does not require payment. Paid billing has not yet launched. When paid plans are introduced, pricing will be displayed clearly before any charge is made, subscriptions will auto-renew unless cancelled, and a refund policy will be stated at the time of purchase.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, that the extension will block all YouTube access in all circumstances, or that AI channel summaries are accurate or appropriate for every use case. Parental responsibility: The Service is a tool to help parents set guardrails. It does not replace parental supervision. We cannot guarantee that a determined child will not find ways to bypass the extension (e.g. using a different browser or device). We recommend using the Service alongside DNS and device-level protections described in the onboarding guide.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including a child accessing content the parent intended to block, data loss due to accidental deletion, or service interruptions. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months prior to the claim.
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. You may delete your account at any time. Upon termination, your data will be deleted in accordance with the Privacy Policy.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll update the "last updated" date above and notify you by email or in ViewHelm Console for material changes. Continued use constitutes acceptance.
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.
