This policy applies to ViewHelm for Chrome (Chrome Web Store ID: jjicegplinfgciachecnkclkkimkgebh) and ViewHelm Console at app.viewhelm.com.
This privacy policy describes how ViewHelm (“we”, “our”, or “the Service”) collects, uses, and stores information when you use ViewHelm Console and ViewHelm for Chrome. By installing ViewHelm for Chrome or creating an account, you agree to this policy.
ViewHelm is a parental control tool that lets parents set per-channel YouTube scheduling rules, enforced in real time on a child's Chrome browser via a browser extension (Chrome Web Store ID: jjicegplinfgciachecnkclkkimkgebh). Contact: hello@viewhelm.com
Email address (for authentication via Firebase Auth) and optional display name.
Profile name, avatar colour, pairing code, and configuration settings (global pause, bedtime cutoff, free time grants, blocked channels, allowed videos).
Channel name, thumbnail URL, YouTube channel ID, schedule rules you configure, and daily watch time limits.
The extension logs: YouTube channel ID and name, session start/end time and duration, and date. We do not log individual video titles, search queries, or YouTube account information.
When a child requests a channel or video: name, thumbnail, YouTube ID, public channel description and subscriber count, AI-generated summary, status, and timestamp.
Last active timestamp (to detect if the extension has been removed), current “watching now” channel name (clears within 5 minutes of a session ending), and FCM token if you enable push notifications.
We do not sell any data to third parties.
When a child requests access to a channel, we send the channel name, description, and subscriber count to the Anthropic API (Claude) to generate a short parent-friendly summary. Only public channel metadata is sent — no personal information. This is subject to Anthropic's privacy policy.
All data is stored in Google Firebase (Firestore) in the us-central1region, with encryption at rest and in transit. Firebase is operated under Google's terms of service.
Deleting a child profile permanently removes all associated channels, rules, requests, and watch sessions. To delete your parent account, contact us at hello@viewhelm.com.
This product is used by parentsto manage their children's YouTube access. Parents create and control all accounts and profiles. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. If you believe we have inadvertently done so, contact us immediately and we will delete it promptly.
You may request access to, deletion of, or correction of your data at any time by contacting hello@viewhelm.com. We will respond within 30 days.
GDPR (EU/UK users):The legal basis for processing is your consent and the performance of the service you've requested. You may withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account.
ViewHelm's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
We may update this policy from time to time and will update the “last updated” date above. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
